As
Redrock Valley Ranch is listed as the applicant, is this a private project? RedRock Valley Ranch (RRLLC) is a privately owned and operated company that(1) filed with the State Engineer an application to transfer water who then issued the permit for the inter - basin transfer: (2) filed an application with Washoe County to obtain all necessary approvals to build well house, pipelines and pump-stations; (3) will design, bid, construct and at present will dedicate the project to TMWA for operations and delivery subject to a purchase agreement between RRLLC and TMWA for the purpose as provided below.

 

WHY is this project being proposed? -  The proposed project is to develop water resources within the Red Rock basin in order to augment the water resource requirements for the north valleys, particularly Lemmon Valley, the water can be used: (1) to provide an alternate, or secondary, source of supply to meet existing demands or during emergencies in Lemmon Valley(2) as a drought supply (3) to augment peak demands in the summer time or (4) to offset or reduce other planned infrastructure costs for the Lemmon Valley area.
